Foundation by Leonhard Weiß
A draw for the construction of the Aalen-Neresheim-Ballmertshofen section of track for the Westdeutsche Eisenbahngesellschaft laid the foundations for the present-day company.

Founding of subsidiary Crailsheim
With the foundation of the Crailsheim division, the family led company optimised its capacity and continued to cover the northeast Wüttemberg and Bavarian regions.

1950
Technology on the Rise
Walter Weiss had been greatly impressed by the machinery used by pioneers during the war. He brought back numerous new and innovative ideas and a burning desire to use modern machines and invest in modern technology. Instead of horses and carts, lorries were increasingly used and tracked loaders made their debut.

1990
German reunification
Due to the reunification extensive, new market opportunities opened up for LEONHARD WEISS which have been used with the establishment of branches in Berlin, Thuringia and Saxony.

Focus on Europe
LEONHARD WEISS continues with the processing of the European market. Branches and subsidiaries in Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland and the Czech Republic arise.

2010
2010 110-year anniversary
The LEONHARD WEISS success story began with the construction of the Härtsfeld Railway. That was 110 years ago and a good excuse for anniversary celebrations among friends in 2010. Around 200 customers and business associates attended the festivities and spent a number of enjoyable and interesting hours in the Satteldorf foyer and under radiant blue skies on the Casino terrace.

TOP-Employer 2013 - 2019
For the first time LEONHARD WEISS - now in the fourth generation - reaches the 1 billion revenue mark. In addition, since 2013, the family-owned company has consistently been able to claim a top position as a top employer in the construction industry and reaches a top rank among the Top 100 companies in Germany.

Estland in focus
LEONHARD WEISS has been working with three companies in Estonia for several years. On 1.1.2019, the market position was strengthened with the merger of the companies. From Estonia, LEONHARD WEISS OÜ also serves neighboring countries Latvia, Lithuania and Russia.
